Coaching at Work
NEW | 2-day program | Topic-Leadership
In the 1960s, Personnel managers hired employees. In the 1990s, Human Resources leaders hired team members. Thirty years later, titles may be the same, but the expectations are certainly different. And neither Peter Drucker’s Modern Management nor Warren Bennis’s Leadership seem to do the trick anymore.
If you and your organization are challenged to motivate, develop or retain the talented people that work with you, try Coaching at Work. In this workshop, participants will learn the theory of coaching: how to facilitate workplace conversations that empower employees. Learners will gain confidence in their coaching skills when they practice the theory in real-world situations of their choosing. This two-day event is designed to help anyone who leads, manages or influences others to motivate, develop and retain talent.
Participants will acquire proficiency in coaching techniques and the practice it requires so they can apply them at work with confidence.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
Differentiate between theoretical coaching and applied coaching
Assemble the core skills of listening, empathizing, asking questions, summarizing, and facilitating into a prescribed coaching process
Navigate the ambiguity of the coaching process with more confidence
Give constructive feedback to peers
Coach in areas where there is no prior knowledge or expertise
Apply the coaching process to conflict management, employee engagement, career development, and task improvement
Motivate accountability using a strengths-based coaching approach
All leaders and influencers.
