Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce | Topic-Leadership | Part of Core Leadership Skills series

Great leaders spend time with employees to learn more about their skills, interests, abilities, and aspirations.  Asking questions and challenging employees’ thinking and actions help employees improve their performance.  This half-day session provides tools for coaching high potential employees who are growing and developing as well as employees who need redirection to avoid disciplinary issues.  Participants will learn a model to apply during coaching conversations.

Course Goal
Prepare leaders to effectively coach challenging and high performing employees.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define coaching
  • Apply the coaching model and its five steps
  • Demonstrate how to coach a challenging employee
  • Demonstrate how to coach a high performing employee
