This program provides a comprehensive look at the practical aspects of creating and maintaining an effective HR record information management (RIM) system. Participants will come away with an understanding of all the different records HR should be handling, and why. Participants will also learn the value of documentation, how and when to document and who should be documenting. This program is required for the HR Skills Certificate.

Course Goal
To equip HR professionals with the knowledge and skills to develop comprehensive recordkeeping practices in order to remain compliant with legal requirements

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
  • Identify when and how to document various workplace situations 
  • Know what records to keep…and what not to
  • Develop a recordkeeping schedule
  • Establish and maintain an electronic recordkeeping system
  • Establish a procedure and protocols to protect their company should there ever be a recordkeeping breach
Designed For:  Professionals new to the Human Resources field and supervisors whose responsibilities also include Human Resources function.
