Conflict is present in all aspects of our lives. An individual’s personal, professional, and emotional health is greatly affected by how successfully he or she manages conflict. Individuals rely on each other to attain goals and are continually being thrown into situations where they need to handle conflict in a constructive manner – without being taught how to accomplish this. This course will expose individuals to the different ways that people react in conflict situations, show them what their preferred strategy is in situations of conflict, and then help them plan to use a more integrating style of conflict resolution more effectively at work.

Course Goal
To prepare participants to respond effectively to conflict at work.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • List the ways productive conflict is healthy for individuals and organizations
  • Identify one's preferred strategy for managing conflict
  • Apply techniques to different conflict situations
  • Choose the best conflict strategy to utilize in different situations
  • Create an action plan to resolve current conflict
