New TEA Training, Registration, and Pricing for 2020

We have worked hard to become your preferred resource for practical Human Resource and Organizational Development solutions promoting operational excellence and sustainability during the past 80 years. TEA continues to assess the learning and development needs of members and other businesses to ensure that the solutions offered are relevant and impactful.  Looking towards 2020, our training programs have been enhanced to better meet the stated needs of members. In addition to our regular offerings, we are launching the following new courses:


  • Managing Difficult Conversations
  • Increasing your Cultural Bandwidth
  • Business & Financial Literacy for HR Professionals
  • Training Test Drive (informational session)

Each of these originated from member feedback received from course evaluations and from a recent training needs survey completed by members last month. 


Investing in employee development is essential for your organization’s future success. Investments in learning & development are very similar to investments made in other parts of the organization and we know that it must deliver value and have the desired impact. We periodically review and revise our training & development pricing models based on three factors. First, we refer to our mission of service as a not-for-profit provider. Second, we consider the expectations and needs of our membership base. Third, we consider the professional training and development market pricing for similar programs and services. TEA programs and services pricing is typically much below market for our members and at or slightly below market for the non-members we serve. We hear regularly that this approach is fair and appropriate and produces consistent value. We are delighted with our reputation for cost effective and impactful training that has been established during the past 80 years of service to the community. 


We know that training is a strategic decision that should be made proactively and in advance rather than a last-minute, reactive necessity. To ensure all our programs are well attended (so that participants are able to “cross pollinate” with each other as they learn and share ideas or experiences), we now offer an improved Early Bird registration policy for each training program which, starting in January of 2020 will allow for discounted registration during the three weeks before each training. Training pricing for Early Bird registrants will not change in 2020 – which is the same pricing as we have offered for the past several years. 
Regular registration rates (e.g. Non-Early Bird registrations received within the three weeks prior to any program’s start date) will change starting in January 2020 as follows:

  • Pricing for a Half-day public course will increase by $5 per participant 
  • Pricing for a Full-day public courses will increase by $20 per participant
  • Pricing for the Core Leadership Skills series (four, full-day sessions) will increase by $40 per participant
  • Pricing for The Leadership Challenge workshop will not change
