This certificate provides participants with a understanding of the key principles influencing the human resources profession. Each program within the series focuses on one specific area that, when combined with other programs, provides the learner with practical knowledge of the broader HR function. The certificate series is geared toward individuals new to Human Resources and to individuals wishing to expand or refresh their understanding of Human Resources today.

How it Works:

Complete all 7 required programs within 12 months to earn the HR Skills Certificate. Any of the individual HR Skills programs may be completed independently without the need to enroll in the certificate program.

Each program has been submitted for approval for recertification credits through the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) & SHRM.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS -VIRTUAL
This program will introduce participants to the “rewards” side of an organization – the compensation and benefits. Participants will look at what the considerations are when deciding to establish a compensation plan and what types of plans there are along with benefit options and considerations to keep in mind when deciding which to offer.

EMPLOYEE SELECTION & INTERVIEWING - IN-SEAT
Recruiting and hiring the right people is the key to success for any organization. In this program, the entire selection process is examined including position analysis, determining necessary qualifications, candidate screening, the job interview, pre-employment testing, and background investigations.

COMMON ETHICAL CHALLENGES - IN-SEAT
This training program defines the many types of ethical choices present in the workplace, what enables and gets in the way of the ethical choices we make, and how leaders can positively influence the culture of their organization through an increased awareness of workplace ethics.

HR COMPLIANCE ESSENTIALS - IN-SEAT
Human Resource Professionals will learn about the most common Federal and State laws that influence the employment relationship at all levels of any organization.

HR DOCUMENTATION AND RECORDKEEPING -IN-SEAT
This program provides a comprehensive look at the practical aspects of creating and maintaining an effective HR record information management (RIM) system.

HR POLICY WRITING AND HANDBOOK DEVELOPMENT  -VIRTUAL
This program provides a complete review of how and when to develop policies and how to take those policies to the next step and develop them into an employee handbook.

NEW EMPLOYEE ONBOARDING -IN-SEAT
This program will enable participants to identify the limitations of their existing new employee onboarding processes and select new, high-value strategies and practices to maximize the effectiveness of their current onboarding process.
