Leading a team in today’s ever changing environment may require leaders to manage people directly, indirectly, cross-functionally, and globally.  With the constant march towards flatter organizations, leaders need to be able to quickly identify a strategy that will accelerate the performance of individuals and groups toward high performing teams.  This half-day course provides participants with information and techniques to effectively lead various types of team.

Course Goal
To equip leaders with practical tools to evaluate a team’s structure and apply an appropriate strategy to align the individual members toward the team’s and organization’s goals.

Course Objectives
After completing this series, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the differences and similarities between leading individuals and leading teams
  • Compare and contrast the different types of team structures to identify the potential challenges of leading each type of team
  • Conduct a self-evaluation of leadership skills when leading each different type of team
  • Formulate three action items to improve their leadership performance for a team that they currently lead
