Conflict is present in all aspects of our lives. An individual’s personal, professional, and emotional health is greatly affected by how successfully he or she manages conflict. Individuals rely on each other to attain goals and are continually being thrown into situations where they need to handle conflict in a constructive manner – without being taught how to accomplish this. This course will expose individuals to the different ways that people react in conflict situations, show them what their preferred strategy is in situations of conflict, and then help them plan to use a more integrating style of conflict resolution more effectively at work.

Course Objectives
After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Learn that productive conflict is healthy for individuals and organizations
  • Understand how to approach conflict situations – what causes us to avoid them and the importance of addressing conflict with the right mindset
  • Identify one's preferred strategy for managing conflict
  • Learn the five different ways people react to conflict and how they can be utilized in different situations to maximize success
  • Understand that the Integrating strategy is the preferred conflict strategy that makes for stronger relationships and better business results
  • Create an action plan to resolve current conflicts
